The Royal and Sun Alliance Insurance Group offers Public Liability Insurance cover to your Network with a limit of indemnity of £2,000,000. This is a block policy in the Network’s name. You will be covered for your legal liability, i.e. negligence, for damage to third party property or injury or death to third parties. The cover will extend to treat each member of your class or club as if they are also the insured.
The cost for 2007/8 is £16.20 per teacher per annum. If you arranged the cover separately, the cost would be at least £100. Most hall owners and local authorities expect their hall hirers to have appropriate Public Liability Insurance. Some have even been known to cancel hirings if they discover their hirers are not insured. I would strongly encourage you to avail yourself of this arrangement as it offers excellent value.
Please remember that your insurance cover is only valid if you are a subscriber to The Grapevine so make sure that you renew your subscription in good time.
