Every year since 1989, the network has organised a residential Easter Gathering for Circle Dance Teachers, both established and emerging, Musicians and, in recent years, experienced dancers. The event usually runs from Thursday evening to lunchtime on Easter Monday.
The weekend includes sessions offered by individual teachers and other shared sessions, where participants can offer to share a favourite dance. Most evenings we dance to live music, when a focaliser invites different teachers to lead a specific dance. There is likely also to be a space to share teaching experiences and concerns.The band is open to new musicians, who want to explore playing the circle dance repertoire, as well as established circle dance musicians. Not only are a selection of circle dance CDs and books available, but we usually invite a clothes stall for a few hours, so you can stock up on circle dance clothing too! A Great Place for the Network to network.
During the course of the weekend the Circle Dance Friends Co. Ltd. A.G.M. is held to which all are invited. This provides an excellent opportunity to discover what CDFC is up to and voice opinions.
